Will Steve Bannon take over Heritage after Jim DeMint leaves? Mike Needham won't say
Washington Examiner ^ | 30 Apr 2017 | Philip Wegmann |

Will blistering populist Steve Bannon replace fiery conservative Sen. Jim DeMint as the next president of the Heritage Foundation? Heritage Action CEO Michael Needham won't say.

Asked by Chris Wallace whether Heritage would be Bannon's "safety net as he's forced out of the White House," Needham demurred on "Fox News Sunday." "I can tell you," Needham replied, "there's a lot of speculation in the room and in the media that never misses a chance to divide and attack conservatives."

With that non-answer, speculation over the fate of Heritage Foundation will no doubt reach a new fever pitch. News of DeMint's ouster has already sent shockwaves throughout the think tank and reverberations through right wing circles in Washington, D.C.

During the entire putsch, Heritage employees have been left in the dark. Many didn't learn that DeMint was being pushed out until Politico published the story Friday afternoon. And as DeMint loyalists clean out their desks and after one board member, Todd Herrick, resigned in protest, Heritage has still issued no official statement.

Less than 24 hours before Needham arrived at Fox News' D.C. studios, Heritage vice president of personnel, Wes Dyck, sent a staff-wide email warning employees not to talk to the press.

"I ask all of you to avoid speculation, especially outside the Heritage family or with the media," a copy of the email obtained by the Washington Examiner reads. "Further public speculation is not helpful to the cause we all share: advancing principled, conservative public politics for all Americans."

Bannon has a close relationship with Heritage board member Rebekah Mercer, the wealthy daughter of a conservative hedge fund manager. Together they helped reshape the conservative political field, backing Trump when others wouldn't. Now they might be preparing to remodel the conservative ivory tower.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Very interesting...........

Ridiculous that he is going to Heritage, ridiculous that he's going to start a business with Ailes or both?

Oh. So it's true then? [Too much time dwelling in the swamp]. P.S. Ivanka is running the white house and my sources tell me she wants him gone.

Nasty rumors in D.C. - that's how we do it folks. Not all fake news is just fake. A lot of it is malicious. I don't like my lot in life, and if I shake things up - like Iago in Othello - maybe I can come out on top, or at least bring down successful people I really hate.

Why is he staying? He’s clearly not being listened to.

“Just talked with Bannon. One word reply: “Ridiculous.””

Indeed. Who in their right mind would want to take over a do-nothing think tank that just fired their current director for wanting to do something besides think, instead of continuing to help drive the actions taken by the most powerful person on the planet?

Made up ‘Fakest News Yet’ group...

Really, when are people going to understand that most of what we read and hear is ‘fake news’...

Things are going to level out here pretty soon, the media, talking heads and radio show hosts are just about done...

If you don’t hear it out of President Trump’s mouth, don’t believe it...

So let me see if I get this right.

Some NeverTrumper NeverDoWell named ‘Philip Wegmann’ has to meet a deadline for some article that will turn up the intensity of the Beltway chatterbox.

So he sits down and he thinks “What can I write about? What sensational fakery can I gin up for the weekend political junkies?”

So he reads that DeMint is stepping down at Heritage and he decides to make it seem as if Demint was shown the door and kicked out into the street.

But that’s not enough. There has to be a twist to lead his lemming readers further astray.

Think-Think-Think

So he asks himself “Who else would we like to see step down?”

“Aha! Of course! Why we would like to see that uncultivated ruffian Steve Bannon get the same treatment as the unmalleable Mr. Demint!”

And from there, I supposed the plot was hatched and made to seem a fait accompli.

Sickening.

Way to go, Washington Examiner. No outlet has been able to start any “Bannon’s in a fight with so-and-so” rumors for over a week, so WE kicks the bee can by speculating he’s already out. Goofballs.

Bannon would not get along with the globalist neocons at Heritage.
