North Korea turns to Southeast Asian nations for help to stop 'nuclear holocaust
North Korea has appealed to neighbouring nations for support in what it says is its ongoing campaign to prevent what could be a "nuclear holocaust".
North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho warned the situation on the Korean peninsula was "reaching the point of war" due to US actions in a letter to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations' secretary general.
The letter criticised the length of the US-South Korean military exercises and urged the ASEAN chief to notify the 10 member nations' foreign ministers on the "grave situation".
I express my expectations that ASEAN which attaches great importance to the regional peace and stability will make an issue of the US-South Korean joint military exercises at ASEAN conferences from the fair position, and play an active role in safeguarding the peace and safety of Korean Peninsula, he said in the letter a copy of which was obtained by the AFP.

After terrorizing the SE Asian neighborhood with VX assassination and taking Malaysian hostages to get their way, now N. Koreans ask for their help.
In a way, they have this attitude because they are used to only getting slap on the wrist for their egregious acts.

Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others. |

I think Trump has sent a number of messages in various ways that North Korea is going to be denuked. Nuking them in the process is one option. They can cooperate and generate other outcomes.

The neighborhood bully cringes and cries when someone calls his bluff. Too bad Chamberlain didn’t think of this in 1938.

Can you imagine the problems that the collapse of North Korea would cause for the South? It’s like what happened when Germany was reunified. Millions of new mouths to feed shackled to the remnants of a dysfunctional economy.

Berlin Wall or Lusitania.. A million people will sacrifice everything. I just can’t do anything but pray.

I was wishful-thinking a peaceful collapse a la Eastern European 1991. I dread the prospect of war in Korea, millions may die. It’s too awful to wish for.

Maybe, this time it will be designated a war, and not a police action!

The official response from ASEAN should be to tell North Korea to end its pursuit of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles or see ASEAN officially join South Korea in a defense treaty with them.

Let's "Lance this boil" and get this problem over and done with !
This problem needs a REAL solution, and that starts with the Air Force/Boeing project, CHAMP (
Counter-electronics High-powered Microwave Advanced Missile Project) and MOP ("
Massive Ordnance Penetrator").
Kim Jong-un gets a MOAB suppository.
Then we launch every aircraft in the region that's supersonic, including South Korea's fighters and bombers, to cross into North Korea from all directions, to overfly low level at Mach One PLUS, to bust every piece of glass in North Korea.
Then we firebombs the place to ashes.
The only real transportation system North Korea has is the railroads, so they get blown to smithereens. and that's just the start of day one.
Someone commented on another thread:
" If NK launched shells containing Sarin or some other chemical agent it could be worse.
Their artillery cannot be allowed to fire.
The problem is time.
If we launched an attack the norks would know we were coming immediately, they would fire.
To take out all their artillery conventionally without them firing is impossible.
WRONG !
How many of those north Korean Artillery sites are controlled by electronics (computers) ?
Do you even know about CHAMP and its capabilities ?
Do you think the artillery south of the DMZ that the ROK has, as well as the United States Army has, is just going to sit there and allow that to happen ?
What do you think their FIRST targets will be ?
Our's as well as the ROK's artillery are already
'dialed in' on those North Korean artillery sites, as well as the barracks that house the North Korean soldiers that man those sites?
Where's your military mind ?

Un Security Council meeting going on now....so far all on the same page....though China still wants to chip away at N.Korea by tit-for-tat negotiations as they’ve always done....they do not think China should have to do this themselves.
No doubt China would still like to go back to the same old way of dealing with N.Korea....but doesn’t appear the Security Council is on their page.
