They are only asking for 10K in damages. If Jones really defamed them I would think TEY would be seeking much more money.
That is almost certainly bad reporting.
The case was filed in Federal Court and you have to allege that you’ve had a minimum of $10,000.00 in damages to trigger subject matter jurisdiction.
There’s times v Sullivan, and whether we agree with it or not, it states that there has to be malice for a charge to be collectable against a public official. I don’t know if the head of Chobani did any tv or media interviews though.
