DOJ 2008 rules limit supplying politically sensitive information to the White House, a review of guidelines for domestic FBI intel investigations has found. The central focus of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence probe into putative Russian election meddling as a cover to disseminate unauthorized disclosures of sensitive US intel communications intercepts.
The prohibitions may explain why the FBI still has not responded to a House request for documents about how the White House was able to “unmask” the names of Americans incidentally spied on during an apparently contrived Obama admin "foreign electronic intelligence operation" timed to run during the Trump transition team commenced its operations.
The House committee investigation centers on Susan E. Rice, then-Pres Obama’s national security adviser, and her involvement in clandestine political spying operations using foreign surveillance as her cover. She is the committee's central witness to explain the unmasking and wide dissemination of what committee chair, Rep. I recall the Darryl Issa era. He was going to investigate and kick some ass. So many here were confident about his efforts.
I said nothing would come of it. Republicans cannot and will not fight. I was sent some nasty messages saying I was just a whiner.
Tell me what he accomplished.

1. When did you request the unmasking, and from which agency?
2. Who in that agency actually did the unmasking? Please provide the written requests you submitted.
3. Once the names were unmasked, did you still believe there was a threat to national security from the named US persons?
4. If so, with whom did you share the information, and what actions were taken to protect America and American citizens?
5. If you did not, then you should not have shared the names with anyone else, so how did the names become known?
6. Why was any of the info detailed here deliberately withheld on the FISA application? (it's a felony to willfully withhold information when applying for a FISA).

Alarmingly, the supposed ‘threat’ was about to be inaugurated as President of the US.

The NSA didn’t unmask the information initially, plus later investigations found NO collusion between Russia and Trump.
Seems to be proof-positive that whatever suspicions Obama/Rice/Brennan may have had to justify the unmasking were absolutely wrong, or more likely non-existent.
