Not really a threat, IMO, just an opinion relating to consequences. Plus, I think the GOP as a whole prefers to be the minority party, so losing some amount of support would be welcome. "Please don't throw me in that briar patch."

It is demonstrably false that the GOP wants to be a minority party which would mean it is out of touch with the People. It will take years of fighting the Democrat media in order to rid the party of the fear of it. Most have only realized it can be fought, thanks to Donald Trump.

People overestimate the degree of unity among Republicans they are not, by any stretch, running one campaign rather than each candidate running one of 500 races for the individual seat. Even unity would not be able to overcome the ability of the Democrats to block legislation in the Senate. Unless we go nuclear. Is that allowed?
