Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel warned fellow Republicans that voters “are going to hold us accountable” if “we do not keep the campaign promises that were made,” during an interview Wednesday on “The Laura Ingraham Show.”
McDaniel predicted many Americans would be frustrated by the news a downpayment to start construction of the border wall would be dropped from a must-pass spending bill in Congress this week. Noting that building the border wall was “front and center” in Trump’s 2016 campaign, the RNC chair insisted that “our voters are going to expect us to act on it.”
“I know that our voters are going to hold us accountable in 2018 if we do not keep the campaign promises that we made,” McDaniel said. “And so, when you get to Washington, sometimes you forget what was said outside. And it’s important that we bring that back to Washington and let them hear what the voters expect of this government and this president.”
LifeZette editor-in-chief Laura Ingraham referred to reports of GOP leaders “sitting behind closed doors” and laughing at the prospect of building the wall, to which McDaniel warned those lawmakers are “going to lose the trust of our base.”

It’s OK to vote and contribute strategically. ESPECIALLY if done so openly and publicly.

This isn't so much a logistic question about the affordability or efficacy of the wall as it is about GOP establishmentarians finding an excuse to oppose immigration restriction.
Pres. Trump can VETO a bad bill, and let the 2/3 cowards override it!

It is demonstrably false that the GOP wants to be a minority party which would mean it is out of touch with the People. It will take years of fighting the Democrat media in order to rid the party of the fear of it. Most have only realized it can be fought, thanks to Donald Trump.
People overestimate the degree of unity among Republicans they are not, by any stretch, running one campaign rather than each candidate running one of 500 races for the individual seat. Even unity would not be able to overcome the ability of the Democrats to block legislation in the Senate. Unless we go nuclear. Is that allowed?

When the Republicans majority at the Captial have no problem funding Planned Parenthood, but struggle to build the wall or vote for tax cuts..... Then yes their supporters will flee.
Any Republican member that does not understand this should be immediately recalled and a special election to remove them from office.
Even if that member is luck enough to prevent or survive a recall, then every effort should be made to remove that congressman or woman up to and including crossing over to vote them out.
The message needs to be sent if you sell out your supporters, then your career in Washington is over.

Absolutely! I emailed my congress scum and told him to ask for an extra $50K from the Chamber of Crony Commerce for his work on stopping the wall, funding planned parenthood and failing to repeal obamacare and then asked him, why would I vote Republican again in Congressional races??? So far no response from this pork loving Bob Byrd wannabe.
