One obvious question is: who owns that Alt key?
There are lots of variations.
We already have to deal with gross misnomers. The “liberals” that are hated by “conservatives” tend to be illiberal. They do not put their own skin in the game, but want to put everybody else’s skin in it. That isn’t even liberal any more. Using the term “liberal” in opprobrium tends to drive genuine liberal out of the consideration.
I’m not a fan of the term conservative, because it implies that the status quo is good and worthy of conserving, or the term progressive, which implies that those who keep kicking the remains of Western Civilization into a globalist sinkhole are about progress.
