On Feb 13th I first called my congressman about the humanitarian side of the battle approaching in Raqqa. I had been told by a close friend who I've know from the Siege of Kobani about the size of this city and it's importance in the War against ISIS. And about the potential humanitarian aid problem.

Raqqa was 240,000 before ISIS made it their capital.

The US has supplied a great deal of military assistance, but it is time the UN stepped in and helped with the humanitarian side. That is one of the things that they actually do a good job of.

I called my congressman again on Friday (4th such call I made) when I heard there were 10,000 displaced persons in a period of just over a week from Raqqa.

Please, will you contact you congressman and senators to plead for UN help in this effort in Syria.

There are a number of air bases that the US is using for war logistics that can handle the Humanitarian aid effort. They are in areas secure enough to justify acting now.

Thnaks. Will make some calls.

I worry what may come to the area next. Military torment from Erdogan, who I have read is planning to sever the continuity of the Kurds area in northern Syria.
