I have spent years around people from the Middle East. Occasionally, at lunch or in a casual conversation they will say something that is so stunning and revealing that those of us from the west rock back and have to remember to close our mouths. Once, an Arab said, between pizza bites, “Well, if he insulted Islam then he must die. Pass the pitcher, please.” Or, “I chose this wife because she was living in the worst circumstances. She will be grateful for anything I give her.” (She arrived in the US at age 13 already pregnant by her 45 year old husband.)Or, “I will have at least 15 sons because we need soldiers for the Jihad.” Or, “You will not like it when we take over. You will be my slave. You will pay taxes to me.”
The Muslim culture is as alien as if it had evolved on Mars. People think that because they laugh and have fun with you that they are okay. One of the Boston bombers murdered his Jewish “friends.” I’m sure the Jewish “friends” thought that everybody was the same and all cultures were equal. That last few seconds must have been a rude awakening to reality. Too bad it only lasted a few seconds.
Great post.
Thanks for the insight.
One of the most stupid slogans the left has indoctrinated the American public with is “Everyone is the same all over the world”.
No, they are not. Not even close.
Along the same lines as the muslim deceiver who said “Spread the wealth around”, “My muslim faith”, and “57 states”. Occasional, revealing, stunning, and deliberately ignored by most people, to their own future harm.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants desperately to re-establish the Ottoman Empire, and to have himself installed as the Grand Vizier, if not the Sultan. There is some small difficulty here, in that the Grand Vizier is almost always some high priest or ayatollah or imam of Islam, but that is a mere formality of the religious title being conferred upon him by a compliant mosque, authority not being a well-defined concept in Islam.
