With the emergence of Rupert Murdochs politically progressive son, James, in the leadership of his media empire and the unceremonious exits from Fox News of CEO Roger Ailes and now flagship anchor Bill OReilly, the cable-news powerhouses niche as an alternative to the left-leaning CNN, MSNBC and broadcast networks is suddenly in question.

I wonder if some other cable company is willing to make a jump into the business right now? If they could pick up Roger Ailes, Bill OReilly, and some others as “partners”, as well as a new crew of conservatives, they could probably steal a big chunk of the FOX News audience overnight.

If that is the case, I won’t be watching any FOX anymore.

Aside from Hannity and Tucker Carlson, Fox News is already like CNN.

I asked on another thread and didn’t get an answer so I’ll ask here. I’ve had DTV since it came into existence. So OAN is on 347. I go to 347 and it says I have to subscribe to something. I ain’t going to subscribe but subscribe to what?
Did/does this happen to anybody else with DirecTV?

Fox News has all the growth it’s going to get in the US and its viewers have no where else to go.
One America News? The day its production quality doesn’t look like a junior high AV club, it might be a competitor.
By moderating, you can put Fox News in overseas markets and grow that way.

Aside from Hannity and Tucker Carlson, Fox News is already like CNN. Add Judge Jeanine and Fox 'n Friends to those two. Other than that, FNC isn't worth spit.
Fox Business is the go-to now at least until Dobbs, Varney, and Maria hang it up.

I aint going to subscribe but subscribe to what? You have to have the Select package or higher to get OAN on Directv, you're not missing much though, it's mostly just headlines with 2 one hour shows in the evening.
Anchors look like they have their hair and make up done by the Duggars...but call them up to see what the issue is.

I agree. I've been watching OAN now for 3-4 weeks and like the amount of news I get in a short time. The presenters need more polish, but I don't need to watch 4-5 shows to hear 4-5 stories beat to death. I can go do other things instead of wait for a talking head I like to opine on everything of the day. I like Hanity, but he just regurgitates the same thing Carlson just did, the same thing O'riely just did, and the same thing Bret Bair and the Five just did. I used to enjoy hearing what Newt was going to say, then Sheriff Clark, and 3-4 more had to say, but just getting the facts in 30 seconds has become enough compared to waiting 4 hours to hear other opinions.
Oh, and one more benefit, I don't have to see Shep Smith or Bob Beckel.

people need to cut the chordLook at Fox News commercials. They're aimed at the elderly and not technically savvy enough to cut the cord.
