Border apprehensions don’t require any court hearing, they can just be turned around.
If it is a second offense it becomes a serious matter. We need to keep track of how many times they try it.
For the first improper entry offense, the person can be fined (as a criminal penalty), or imprisoned for up to six months, or both. For a subsequent offense, the person can be fined or imprisoned for up to two years, or both. (See 8 U.S.C. Section 1325, I.N.A. Section 275.)

Now sure what the rules are on such but if it can be done it should be. Give them a meal
and an understanding if caught again on the USA side of the border without property papers
then they will spend some time at hard labor, ie Cool Hand Luke and Paul Newman.
