I do think that Trump is FINISHED if Bannon gets driven out. Trump has the same problem that ‘read my lips’ Bush Sr. had. He doesn’t come from the base, he very possibly doesn’t understand that what looks like adulation for him (i.e., personality cult), IT IS NOT, but rather it’s issues-based. For example, if Trump had come out for full-scale Amnesty like Jeb, he would have lasted 2 weeks in 2015. Likewise with the older Bush...he too thought he had this personality cult from the Gulf War, so he could double-back on taxes without getting run out of town. The ONE PERSON back then, his Steve Bannon, was Lee Atwater, who died of a brain tumor and was therefore unable to prevent Bush from that horrible mistake - and Bush paid the price in 1992.
And that is still the case now. Bannon understands that Trump’s support is ISSUE-BASED and Bannon knows that if the Democrats can get him to double-back on his Signature Issue - the Wall, then Trump is finished...just as they did to Bush Sr. - and with GOPe help.
