Anita Hill stuff. When remembered office banter from years prior is suddenly discovered to have had emotionally traumatic consequences. More than likely the accuser ‘tops out’ in her career for whatever reason then thinks back on ‘that time’.
Fox News is purging itself of the ‘Ailes Crowd’ by allowing certain people to be ‘Hit’. Did Bill O’Reilly really do something wrong? I don’t know, but I still don’t see much evidence of it.
I once had two women clients who worked for an important municipal agency in a large city. One time we were having lunch together around Easter time. The Irish Catholic one was wearing a necklace with a pendant that was the face of Jesus. The Jewish one, her supervisor, was joking about it and tried to "feed" the face of Christ a spoonful of mustard. They were laughing, even though I was silently appalled. They both said their male boss used to chase them around the desks trying to cop a feel. I guess no one sued. Never heard anything more about it. Both continued to rise in their careers, even though it was some decades ago, when advancement was still tough for women. Women had to be internally tough.
