Of course the affordability thing could be a legitimate reason. But too often it is not.

Society has changed but that doesn’t change God’s plans and intent for man and nor does it change what makes men and women happy. Society has simply thrown off God and his plans which are always for our good. Society has done what Adam and Eve did in the Garden: “Thanks God but we’ll take it from here” (ie. we don’t need God anymore).

We are living in as age where women want “equality” with men. Again, back to the Garden. Eve was tempted by Satan to achieve on her own what God had already given her. Today it is the same. God gave women equal intrinsic value as men. Jesus died equally for women as he did for men. But that isn’t good enough for many women today.

Today, women want to extinguish the difference of God-given roles between men and women. They want equal roles, not just equal intrinsic value. And they are more lost and unhappy than they ever were. “You’ve come a long way, Baby”, and every mile shows.

I don’t recall anywhere in the bible that discourages women from working. Men and women should both make family their priority. That includes pastors and missionaries, family should always come first.

There are countless scriptures regarding women working. Again, I don’t believe women are competing. In terms of salary, I see no reason that the pay should be based on performance, not based on gender, race, etc.

For instance, lets refer to Proverbs 31:16-18
“16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard”
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

Here we have a woman who is handling the money, purchasing property, and planting a vinyard, she also makes trades for her business.

Sounds like a business woman. As we know She’s also taking care of her family. Is she competing in a man’s world?
