Secretary of State Rex Tillerson declared the Iran nuclear deal a failure on Wednesday but left open the possibility the Trump administration will uphold it nonetheless.
The top American diplomat sought to reinforce the notion that the U.S. is aggressively countering Iran’s destabilizing behavior throughout the Middle East, even though President Donald Trump so far has not pulled out of the deal. Tillerson spoke a day after certifying to Congress that Iran is complying with its obligations under the 2015 deal, a requirement for Tehran to continue receiving relief from nuclear sanctions.
“The JCPOA fails to achieve the objective of a non-nuclear Iran,” Tillerson said, using an acronym for the 2015 nuclear deal. “It only delays their goal of becoming a nuclear state.”
He said the deal, brokered by former President Barack Obama’s administration along with other world powers, represented the “same failed approach” the U.S. has taken to North Korea. Like with the North, Tillerson said, the Trump administration was unwilling to be patient with Iran, ticking through a list of countries where he said Iran was supporting terrorism and violence. …

Obama even said himself that the Iranians weren’t likely to comply with it. But he signed it anyway, basically acknowledging that he’s an idiot and a failure.
At last someone realizes and publicizes that Obama was snookered on the IRAN deal. If we cannot get a better deal Iran will build a nuclear weapon in under 10 years. US CANNOT AFFORD TO FAIL AGAIN.
While listening to Tillersons statement, bear in mind that this administration is not going to share its actual plans and likely future moves in advance.
The Trump Administration still has not released the secret side agreements that were negotiated by the Obama Iranian supplicants. Iran has threatened to walk away if this information was released and, so far, we have not.
Well, the mullahs certainly don’t consider the Obama/Kerry agreement a failure. They kept their nuclear weapon development going, got plane loads of cash sneaked in from the USA in the dead of night, and had sanctions lifted….all this for a promise to delay their nuclear testing for ten years. And we know how good Muslims are at keeping their word to infidels.
Obama and Kerry should be locked up for this sell-out of America.
My best friend in college later became a Marine and was killed in the barracks bombing in Beiruit. He (his estate) is one of the plaintiffs in the cases against Iran, and just last year the Supreme Court affirmed that assets could be seized from the Iranian central back in NY to pay the judgements. Obama pulled the rug out from under that by unfreezing Iran's assets that were held here.
Obama was not snookered.

Even when Congress is in session, they’re worse than useless.

And unless “we the people” get off of our “dead asses” and start demanding that the Congress start doing something constructive, Trump will not achieve his goals and will leave the office for the RATs. For starters, we need to make certain that Paul Ryan is removed as speaker immediately, and removed from the House next year.
The RINOs, even though they made Trump their candidate, fully intend to stonewall him in major areas. Their big government outlook goes back decades.

Let’s put it this way: The RINOs confirmed him at the Cleveland convention and didn’t instead pull the underhanded “brokered convention”; they did listen to the will of the people. Either way, their opposition is more than just palpable in practice this year.
Perhaps a few million marching in DC to demand Congress do their jobs or resign would help.

OMG, yes. Ryan has to go. He’s not just incompetent, he’s actively sabotaging the President. What can we expect—he’s married to a multimillionaire Democrat donor.
I am absolutely livid that repeal of Obamacare and tax reform have been back burnered, tax reform until *next* year.
Meanwhile, Congress cavalierly gives itself a two week vacation. How lovely for them.

I’m not sure the RINOs listened to the ‘will of the people ‘ at the convention. In reality , Priebus used every arrow in his quiver to get Trump through—I know, hard to imagine, but true story.
And he had the best delegate wrangler in the business—Paul Manafort.
I think the RINOS were simply outfoxed and overpowered.
Priebus was an uneven supporter of Trump and is a RINO himself. Remember him going after Trump for not endorsing Ryan in the primary at first? and that was back in August of last year. (I would have rather seen Paul Nehlen in Ryan’s seat myself, but Priebus was protecting his Ryno buddy.)
The will of the people in the presidential primaries was very clear, I think. The RINOs would only have ignored that at their own peril, but were instead pragmatic.
