WASHINGTON -- An Iraqi unit with U.S. and Australian advisers was hit by an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) mustard agent, CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports.

Twenty-five Iraqis required treatment but none of the advisers were injured Sunday, Martin reports.

Brigadier General Yahya Rasool told the Associated Press that six soldiers suffered breathing problems from Sunday’s attack and were treated in a field clinic. An investigation was then launched to determine what type of gas was used.

The attack marked the second chemical attack of its kind in several days. It occurred one day after an Iraqi military officer said ISIS militants launched a gas attack in the al-Abar neighborhood in western Mosul.

Where did they get the mustard agent?

There’s a lot of different formulations, but all of them are pretty difficult to synthesize. I can’t imagine they could be made without a laboratory.

Unless... unless... they FOUND them. But who would hide mustard agent in Iraq?

Assad is not in Iraq. Who says this isn’t a way to get more Aussie and US folks.. and a few more taxpayer dollars back into Iraq? In most countries, after significant US troops are withdrawn, their money goes too. Never underestimate the lure of free taxpayer dollars rolling in like a tidal wave. And rolling back out suddenly.
If we say that Soros is funding the destruction of the US, we are admitting that the news and protestitutes we read about are fake.
so why wouldn’t we admit that Syrian gas attack is identical, straight out of sadams playbook. And the purpose? Do you really think he thought it necessary to gas them? Or would it create a crisis to do it in font of the camera. Never let a cris go to waste.
A body of an Aleppo child washes up in f not of cameras and now our country and certainly Europe has been invaded.. over a crisis.
I think it is better to examine the evidence..
How many US lives do you commit to Syria.. Is one yours? Wouldn’t it be smarter to do due diligence and exercise caution before responding to a crisis that could have been created.
Are you certain enough to look in a soldiers eyes and tell him, his life is worth losing over this? Just try that one thing, and you win the argument.

Hmmm....so was the bombing of Assad based on wrong info?

"Twenty-five Iraqis required treatment but none of the advisers were injured Sunday, Martin reports."

The attack was not deadly like the one in Syria. I think that lends credence to a planned attack in Syria as opposed to hitting a rebel or ISIS stockpile by accident.

There are certainly those who would go to any lengths to try to make it look that way......

The attack was not deadly like the one in Syria.

Well, it was directed at troops that had access to protection.

It would be inaccurate to compare the two events directly.

1. Leftover chemical weapons from Saddam. 2. Many top ISIS people are former Saddam loyalists, and likely knew where they were.

But they didn’t exist, remember...? /s

Therefore, it must’ve been “virtual” mustard gas...

Sound like — maybe — only the advisors had immediate access to gas masks (or were trained sufficiently to make good use of them).

That’s the thing about our Media — they are constantly moving the goalposts & redefining terms to benefit their side in the debate. Example: before Operation Iraqi Freedom WMD = Nuclear, Chemical or Biological weaponry. After OIF, no Nuclear Weapons found = “NO WMD’s period”. In point of fact they were finding caches of artillery & rockets filled with Mustard, VX or Sarin all over Iraq, but suddenly that didn’t qualify as prohibited WNDs.

Now Assad allegedly comitted a couple of gas attacks — 1 under Obama’s watch and the last famously under Trump. Suddenly gas is a WMD ‘again’ and therefore we must intervene! We’re being played.

We’re being played.

Assuming the failed legacy of Bush and Obama in the Mideast was a colossal mistake. I am not saying "cut and run". It would be naive to walk away but the region sucks life out of this administration and is a huge distraction. I think with a Trillion dollars spent, countless dead, and lie and deceit with no clear objectives or allies we would close the book on this garbage.
