Dao’s lawsuit against United will, as demonstrated in debate in previous threads, devolve to the details of the carriage contract on the ticket.
Once United called the TSA and Chicago Transit Police, the matter was out of their hands. It is the Chicago cops who put the beating on Dao.
I still don’t understand though why United doesn’t give its local managers a bit more flexibility to offer higher rewards, to entice that last passenger to get off the plane....
Soon, some of them would be throwing their friends and relatives off the plane for profit.
They gave up control, not liability.
Fed regs give airlines no flexibilty on a deal.
They have a federal regulation on the max payout. 800 dollars?
” Daos lawsuit against United will ... devolve to the details of the carriage contract on the ticket. “
The Contract is Carriage is not on the ticket. It consists of 30 rules and even one rule couldn’t fit on the ticket.

...
Did they? I saw an article this morning claiming there’s no evidence of a beating, and that his injuries were an accident.
While I agree the government should not be involved, as soon as passengers realize they can hold out for more credit/money, they will hold out for more.
