The government already has my DNA. Every military member was required to give DNA swabs on multiple occasions, even back in the late 1990s. When a jet transport crashed in early days of Ronald Reagan's presidency (carrying hundreds of military members), many of their remains could not be identified. Back then, they required you to hand carry your dental records, which would also have been used to help identify you when you body was burned or smashed in a crash.
So the military went to DNA.
