Like corn fields, bean fields. Why aren't they showing it off doing that?
Here’s the deal about robots.
They run out of power in ONE HOUR or less. Until that problem is solved they are not a serious threat.
So that’s what’s under Fedor Emelianenko’s skin!
“The Russian experimental robot stands six foot tall and weighs between 106-160 kg, depending on if it follows its current diet programming.”
6 feet tall, a max weight of 352 lbs or so. It is qualified to shop regularly at Walmart.
Freegards
Well, they could build hybrid robots, with small gasoline engines and large fuel tanks...They could run for days.
What’s this nonsense of “both hands”? My robot will have 6 arms!
It’s a good reminder that even if we don’t develop battlefield robots (drones, or whatever), other countries will. It will be a weird version of the cold war missile gap.
Yeah, I don’t understand making battlefield robots look like humans. Mine’s going to look like a beetle with 6 legs, a .50 cal and hi-speed grenade launcher in the head and it will have an armored shell for protection which can quickly be shed for added speed and mobility for the times it is massacring defenseless humans. We are going to have so much fun with these things EVERYBODY will want one of their own!
It’s reminiscent of announcements about Iranian weapons.
Apparently you have not seen the Matrix ?
aw, a robot. How cute. Bet it isn’t lazer proof.
It will be solved. Battery life is increasing all the time.
Plus, as AI expands, it will simply recharge itself.
Remember what he said: “I’ll be back!”
Does the Russian Robot drink vodka?
The Russians can barely make anything that works, their technology is light years behind ours. We don’t have much to worry about.
When was the last time you bought anything made in Russia other than vodka.
As far as I know they make zero hi-tech products other that weapons that don’t work very well.
“their technology is light years behind ours.”
They don’t need technology when there are so many people living in the USA that want them to have what we have...
They run out of power in ONE HOUR or less. Until that problem is solved they are not a serious threat.
The mistake is thinking a combat robot has to look like a human.
We live and workaround hundreds of robots (machines doing things we humans once did). None of them look like humans. I can see a future war where drones do most of the patrolling and ambushes.
There could be a many different combat robots all looking different depending on their mission. As for power, rechargeable batteries and solar.
There will be problems, but that is what research and development is for.
There are three inventions that changed war forever.
The machine gun.
The Tank
The Airplane
When each was introduced in war the Generals did not know what to do about them. The first nation that did had the advantage until others caught up.
This is going to be true with “robots” in combat. It is going to be a game changer
Anyone remember ED-209 from the movie ‘Robo-Cop’ ??
‘The 600-Series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy. But these are new. They look human. Sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. ‘
It could kill a LOT of people in that hour, with laser targeting and hundreds of rounds of ammo strapped on
