Arabic numbers came into Europe through North Africa, but they originated in India. The Babylonians used weighted place numbers (base 60) in third milleum BC. Greek astronomers used Babylonia numbers for performing calculations.

True, but Arabic mathematicians from Iraq and Syria regions, also played a role, specifically with decimals and fractions.
