“I see them everywhere, 30.06/30.07 signs in at least 20% of establishments. Many just post 30.07 as they support concealed carry in their establishments but not open carry for fear it will weird out some customers not accustomed to seeing a fella/lady with a side arm in open.”
That’s my general experience in the San Antonio area. Many 30.07 signs, few valid 30.06 ones. In fact, my opinion is that the ones which post non-compliant signs are doing so on purpose - it makes the snowflakes feel better, but those of us with a CHL get the “secret” message of “y’all are welcome here.”
I made it a point to talk to every owner or manager and explained I would be taking my business elsewhere for that one reason. I encouraged friends and family to do the same. Within a couple of months there was literally one business (Conv store chain) with the 30.06 sign. It closed down last month.
Some people still have the picture of a gun with slash through it. I read these as "I'm either too lazy or stupid to comply with the law, bring your guns right on in."
“Few Gun Free Signs To Be Found at Texas Shopping Center”
Bad news indeed. How in the hell are hard-working criminals supposed to know where it’s safe to practice their arts?
That’s hilarious! Thanks for posting it. I’m forwarding it to all my non Texas friends and Texas friends, too. Plus posting it on FB. A few libs will see it.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. God bless you. Happy Easter!
It quietly went into effect Jan 2016. No wild west shootouts like libs predicted. Imagine that.
Hint for future use - don’t go to the local driver’s license locations in Texas. Go to the Supercenters (they may call them Megacenters) - you’ll drive a bit more, but the time will work out the same, and you will end up a lot less frustrated. I drive to the one in Garland, although there is a local office just a few blocks down the street.
Addressing the Asia issue - the home invasion robberies in the area tend to be blacks targeting Asians. It’s rare to find Cauc victims of a home invasion.
Lost all mine canoeing
I'd expect so. I reckon there are a lot of Texans who'd take them up on that offer of free guns.
That would be us folks in Wyoming. Parts of which around Cheyenne, by the way, used to be a part of Texas in the old Texas republic days.
This is inone Texan (by choice) that would welcome you back. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Texas seceded and all of what was the Republic of Texas came with us.
This is inone Texan (by choice) that would welcome you back.
It could happen. I dearly love my Wyoming home, I've got good neighbors, and I surely do miss the place when I'm not there. But Texas will always be a part of me too. And milady is right fond of the place as well; if not permanent residents, we'll for sure be frequent vacationers.
Wouldnt it be wonderful if Texas seceded and all of what was the Republic of Texas came with us. Texas doesn't have to secede. Texas joined the US by treaty as a sovereign state, and if that treaty or the constitutional compact is abrogated, the treaty is null and void, and Texas reverts to a sovereign nation again. Expect, of course, that Mexico would attempt to retake their former territory by force.
I'd reckon that 'bout 25 million Texans might dispute that claim. Twenty-five million armed Texans. Including the ones out by the former Pantex site near Amarillo and the old Medina Complex at San Antonio.
This is very current and has a mobile app as well: www.texas3006.com
So called smart people say the treaty was voided when Texas rejoined the union after the Civil War.
The truth is the treaty was never ratified to begin with.
