I was reading where the “Daisy Cutter” was about half the size of the MOAB - so interesting if this is older footage. (I bet it is). I was also reading on how much of the effect of the bomb was “shock and awe” (and surrender).
The way the wording is in this brief, could the “36 terrorists killed after US bombed Afghanistan” mean as the troops went in they killed 36 terrorists, in addition to any unknown killed by the bomb.? I’m guessing any near the surface would have disintegrated, and any underground will spend eternity down there.
If you youtube ‘bomb explosion in TORO BORO’ there’s one which is shown on a rocky hillside that looked sort of like this.....I remember seeing it during the attacks there when they first began fighting the Taliban before Iraq.....that was stunning to watch as well....
Possibly, the Daisy Cutter was designed to instantly clear landing zones in the heavily forested areas of vietnam. It was called the BLU-82. The Pentagon kept the psychological effects on the VC in the back of their minds for an even bigger bomb.
Count the boots left laying around and divide by 2.
I always remember this quote during W’s term.
