Several writers have said that the bomb’s explosive radius is from 1.0 to 1.6 miles in total radius.
However, shock waves can travel much further. I felt the shock wave when the hijacked plane on 9/11 hit the Pentagon and I was miles away from it.
Explosions from ammo plants, fireworks plants (I remember one blowing up in 1956 or 1957 that heard it from over 30 miles away), gas facility explosions, etc. can carry dozens of miles.
It’s all about pressure shock waves.

Terror How far away was it felt? Heard? Seen?

the claim of a one-mile damage-radius is hard to believe.
528 feet, I would believe

No, if it saved one allied serviceman from death or injury, then it was worth every penny.

It won’t though. Killing 36 won’t stop crap. But killing 36,000 might give them pause. The problem is, imo, we’re afraid of killing people. It’s just a tremendous waste of money. We can kill 36 people with a smaller bomb.

Thanks for that video, I’m so tired of the Eglin test video. There was a ISIS training Camp at ground zero.

I thought the U.S. had ceased combat operations in that country?

My thought as well, I think it was more a warning to North Korea.

I was reading where the Daisy Cutter was about half the size of the MOAB Possibly, the Daisy Cutter was designed to instantly clear landing zones in the heavily forested areas of vietnam. It was called the BLU-82. The Pentagon kept the psychological effects on the VC in the back of their minds for an even bigger bomb.

The comments say that isn’t the MOAB, it’s a year ago in Yemen.

Yeah... that’s about 583lbs of explosive each. Odds are the numbers are completely unknown and finding 36 people after a 21000lbs explosion they obviously weren’t that close.
Psychological effect and what’s left of the tunnel system and anyone inside will probably never be known.

That’s disturbing (well, except these ARE terrorists) - but I’ve come across motorcycle and pedestrian accidents after the fact with an outline of a shoe over here and a shoe over there, 50 feet from the skid marks on the ground. I bet they are thrown clear and survive.

Yep fake news...but a neat video. Totally different video than what was shown on all the news reports.

"the claim of a one-mile damage-radius is hard to believe."
A blast producing a shock wave with the Pounds Per Square Inch of more than of the Nuclear bomb used in Japan in WW II, will radiate out that far, with the force to kill humans, not to mention what it can do to third world construction.

Guys, that footage isn’t the MOAB. it’s from Yemen.
To: Yaelle
No.
That's just an Unmanned Areal Vehicle (UAV) with an equipment pod under it.
It could be an external fuel tank, camera equipment, ... or anything that would attach to the carrying rail under the UAV.
