An American history professor at Fresno State University in California apologized Thursday for a tweet that said President Donald Trump must hang to save American democracy.
The professor, Lars Maischak, said he has temporarily left Fresno while the university is on spring break, after receiving death threats and hundreds of hate emails since the tweet was highlighted by far-right websites such as Breitbart News.
I regret making these tweets, Maischak said. I wrote them to an audience of 28 followers on Twitter under the assumption they would be read by people I know.
Maischak said he sent the tweet in February to voice personal despair over comments by Trump and actions by the current U.S. government and was not trying to incite violence.

>> “I am not in Fresno. I fear for my life,” the professor said
Self-inflicted fear.
Condemn policy, behavior, character, but never threaten the well-being of another. It’s not only illegal, it serves no constructive purpose.
I hope he dies.
He only tweeted it to 28 fellow travelers, who then re-tweeted it to other fellow travelers who then re-tweeted it to other fellow travelers ans so on and so on.
These are the kind of people who think everyone in the world agrees with them and no one can or would blow the whistle on it all.
Kinda like the last administration and the 2016 Democrat candidate
This hack said Trump should be hanged.
Now, this hack is on the run, in hiding in fear for his own life.
Ironic.
“After receiving death threats”
Not “after his claims that he has received death threats”
Yep. If you are black, u play the race card.
If u are white, u play the death threat card.
Guarantee you he is being paid while on leave.
If it were professor Abimael Guzman, whoever revealed his tweet would have been assasinated. That is how the left ACTUALLY thinks. Most Americans don’t have a clue.
It shows the state of advanced education in our country, not just Fresno. An American History Professor, that means someone gave this flake a doctorate in the discipline — how very sad.
He was given a doctorate by some shameful university and then the State of California university system made him a professor, probably life tenured.
We are at war right now. Guys like that should not be coddled. Send a few like the professor to GITMO and the rest will learn to keep quiet.

In my day we would refer to his 28 Followers as Co-Conspirators.
Effing idiot.
“Maischak said he sent the tweet in February to voice personal despair over comments by Trump”
What does that even mean?
He’s a leftist. No problem for him.
So the professor says something that is Anti-Democracy saying that trump should have to “save Democracy”, is funny. Democracy worked that elected Trump; The Professor hates Democracy
Bump
He’s sorry his comments about his wishes were spread beyond his 28 followers. Not sorry/apologizing for what he said. No “I didn’t mean it” there. Just fear of the backlash.
