unlawful rebellion. It's always entertaining to introduce the "Proclamation of Rebellion" which echoes so much of the reasoning and rhetoric of the Lincoln administration- it is of course the 1775 message by King George to Parliament, urging them to put a quick end to the traitorous rebels seeking to secede from the Empire.

And the Confederates never drafted a Declaration of Independence showing their justification for leaving the Union, because they had none!
The only one's who had a right to rebel on the basis of the Declaration of Independence were the slaves.
