At first it looked like a squashed bug. Then I realized it was a smear of ashes.

So not used to seeing that on any public official. Quite shocked by it. In a good way.

There are three Masses on Ash Wednesday in my parish. It’s not a Holy Day of Obligation. All three Masses are standing room only. I like to go early so that I wear my ashes all day. Its a bit vain but oh well.
