As President Donald Trump warned that the US was ready to deal with North Korea alone, another carrier strike group was preparing to respond to a “crisis anywhere on the planet.”
The US Navy said the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group was conducting a sustainment exercise to prepare it for deployment. It is led by the nuclear-powered USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, a Nimitz class aircraft carrier.
“Sustaining the readiness of this strike group—so it is ready to respond to a crisis anywhere on the planet–is a bargain and an important part of what our Navy’s Optimized Fleet Response Plan does for the nation,” said Adm. Phil Davidson, commander of the U.S. Fleet Forces....

If they send 7 carrier groups, they are serious.
In 1945 we had over 100 aircraft carriers of various types. Even Canada had them.
AND the USS Ronald Reagan is homeported in Yokosuka.
She could be under weigh in two days.
I will suspect the worst if one group parks in the Sea of Japan, and the other in the Yellow Sea, on either side of Korea. This would complete an anti ballistic missile umbrella for both China and South Korea.
Both groups had better have intensive antisub operations, because fat boy has already sunk one ship, the ROKS Cheonan.
And we still owe them some major payback for that.
Important note: As of 2016, the ROK Navy has about 70,000 regular personnel including 29,000 Republic of Korea Marines. In addition, there are about 160 commissioned ships in service with the ROK Navy, including about 10 submarines, 110 surface combatants and patrol vessels, 10 amphibious warfare ships, 10 mine warfare ships, and 20 auxiliary ships.
And it is highly likely that the Japanese navy will be keeping a close eye on things as well. As well as the Russians.

It’s time to start calling it by the right name, auto INcorrect!
Google drives me nuts, when I try to enter data for a new search that is somewhat different than previous searches.
Their auto INcorrect takes over and I can’t post what I want to search. (All searches have the same problem)
So now I enter/key in the search question/statement on a Google Document. Then, I copy or cut what I want from the google doc and paste it in as the search.
