“Statement 5 goes on to imply that children of color are not able to learn about their race in the education system, saying white schoolchildren experience privilege through exposure to “curricular materials that testify to the existence of their race.”

I don’t even know what this means.

Our school district does not cover U.S. history before 1875.

It summarizes 1492-1875 during the first week.

Black boards are gone. Replaced by white boards.

Books printed on white paper.

School takes place during the day. Not at night when it is black.

“. . . white schoolchildren experience privilege through exposure to “curricular materials that testify to the existence of their race.”

I’ve been trying to think if ever in 20+ years of school anyone said that someone was White. I remember plenty of people described as Black.
