Little can surprise me in terms of the TSAs waste, incompetence and sheer indignity, but this story may mark a new low.
Its about Evelyn Harris, a 65-year-old retiree who was flying out of Washington, D.C., this past January when she committed the terrible terrorism crime known as wearing a pantyliner.
Harris went through the body scanner and thought she was free to proceed to her flight. A TSA agent thought otherwise.
I started to ask if I had done something wrong or if this was random, but before I could get a second word out, the TSA agent yelled at me, Harris told The Washington Post in an interview. She grabbed my throat hard, causing me to choke and cough. She yelled at me for coughing.
She then put her hands inside my bra and panties and groped my private parts with the front, not the back, of her gloved hand. Afterward, I worried that I may have been infected if she had groped someone else without changing gloves, Harris added. Her attitude was so threatening and hostile, that I was afraid to look at her face and name plate.
After her ordeal, Harris filed a complaint. As the Post details, her concerns didnt receive much sympathy from the TSA:
[T]he pat-down was legit, the investigator said. Intimate apparel has been a source of concern ever since Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to bring down a plane on Christmas Day 2009 by detonating a bomb hidden in his underwear.
The investigator told Harris, she said, that his own wife carried a panty liner with her and put it on after security, as this is something that could trigger a search. Indeed, turns out all sorts of feminine hygiene products could be grounds for a search, according to the TSA.
Its that last bit which really gets me: This is a government agency which says that basic hygiene products are all the excuse it needs to permit agents to stick their hands inside your underwear, in public, without a warrant or, it seems, much in the way of a warning. Ladies, just plan your hygiene needs around the TSAs preferences if you dont want to be molested.
Tales of TSA misconduct are a dime a dozen, but this is the first I recall seeing the agency affirm this level of groping is standard procedure. Anyway, heres yet another reminder that the TSA still sucks and weve become way too complacent about it.
Crop dust them with the results of a nasty food cart burrito.
At my house we call them the Testicle Squeezing Administration.
I hope DJT gets rid of these psychos. They are the poster children for losers who get out of control when given a little power. They are a complete failure and they all should be subject to a big “You’re Fired!”

Now which named person would YOU suspect might have a bomb and need to be searched?
Aw givem a break. If it wasn’t for TSA the unemployment rate for pedafiles would be 80%-90%.
Trump is doing a phenomenal job but it will be GENERATIONS for the damage the previous two presidents inflicted on America will be undone. In many ways Bush the Idiot was a WORSE "president" than The One. Bush paved the way for Obama's abuses. Had it not been GWB showing the way first, Obama would have gotten away with far, far less.
Boy am I glad the terrorists haven’t won!
Another reason that I don’t fly if I can avoid it. At this point, I only fly for work, and try to avoid it as much as possible.
I haven’t flown for a vacation since 2011, and only to celebrate a family member’s 100th birthday on the opposite coast.
If that’s the case, I’ll be sure to eat a lot of food that intestinally doesn;t agree with me, and not do a good wiping job. They can look all they want.
You have a calling waiting in investigative journalism. A website where everyone interested could post their video clips, incident reports & a rogues gallery of abusive personnel might generate a lot of heat.
We don’t need TSA to change we need it disbanded. Airport security has been infiltrated with the criminal element. We would be better served with private agencies, bonded employees, with a multilayered security plan beginning before the day of travel including aspects unknown to the general public unlike our present, we’ll tell you exactly what our procedures are so you can figure out how to avoid detection approach.
My father died 1,544 miles (by air) from home while on vacation with my mother. I was the only “child” able to leave my job to help our mother with the details etc. in a reasonable amount of time.
Perhaps you would have taken the train? Perhaps you would have bicycled.
“Will not submit” is a pretty boastful statement. I am as independent as anyone, but sometimes you have to do what you must.
I’m still mortified and thoroughly disgusted at how the TSA treats everyone EXCEPT muslims.
If in your situation, I would have done what was needed.
I don’t have to fly, so I don’t. I drive for vacations.
Fortunately, I like to drive.
Really sad that what we thought beyond absurd in the ‘70s and 80s has become reality.
I loved Bizarre!
How many terrorists have they caught/stopped since they began violating people’s privacy on such a grand scale? Answer: ZERO.
Yet “somehow” the TSA has failed like 90+% of the security tests that have been run... missing all sorts of things that should have been easily caught.
Just more proof that the entire TSA garbage has no more to do with airline safety/security than ObamaCare has to do with actually improving health care while bringing down costs.
Short of a bomb-sniffing dog going ape-nuts on alert at someone’s physical body, I cannot think of a single legitimate reason a TSA agent should make direct contact inside ANYONE’s drawers or bra - PERIOD. And most CERTAINLY not while having you literally by the throat.
Everybody should stop flying for one month—just one month. A short boycott to let the airlines and the government know how much they stand to lose if everybody stopped flying entirely.
The airlines would lose an insane amount of money right off the bat. The TSA would be put on notice that their jobs would evaporate, too, if the airlines no longer existed.
And please don’t give me any of that, “But some of us HAVE to fly” B.S. Even if someone threatens to fire you, We The People have to make a stand and stop this insanity. In the past, people laid their lives on the line for freedom. Our society has become We The Sheeple, and it has to stop. The best revolution is a peaceful, legal revolution, and this is where it could start.
I’ve flown all I want to as well. Fang & I flew to NYC
several years ago. Turbulent flight back home (not the
first bad experience flying for me). When we landed, we
made a deal. If we can’t drive there, forget it!
The public keeps flying and the airlines keep putting up with these assaults. Who’s fault is it?
On a side note it seems United now wants in on the action of abusing their customers physically and not let the TSA goons have all the fun.
Well, you know, in the case of rape, murder in self defense is justified.
All I’m sayin’ is identify and find those who use their power to rape you and do as you should in response. Otherwise, they will rape others.
Good luck finding my scottish underwear you perverts. And this is more moral than simply profiling Muslims ?
“They would undoubtedly lock me up, but Ill be DAMNED if some TSA goon would grab me or mine like that and I didnt beat him/her until the others pulled me off of him/her.”
Why not just find out who they are and wait for them in the parking lot sometime in the future. Then you can exact retribution as you deem fit. Only when a few of these “agents” are found with the crap kicked out of them, will things change.
“I am ashamed I ever voted for him.”
That makes two of us. And you can add in his worthless father and dumb$hit brother too. Can you imagine a Jeb Boosh Presidency? It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it!
