Thinking if dems know they were working undercover who better to Attack. The know they’re not about to blow their own cover.
I think back to a member of Sunday school class. He was at one point of his career undercover for Drug unit. Often came in looking very scary. One Sunday he laughed that he had been arrested - booked etc so not to blow his cover. Said it was OK cause it was under one of his many “work names”
He worked in nearby states. I’m sure matching finger prints without the entire story could give him quite a difficult time
For someone who’s undercover like that, not blowing their cover would definitely be a consideration. For someone in Page or Manafort’s more overt position, I should think foreign intelligence agencies assume they’re potential spies.
