A Boeing 737 ER has a range of 5,510 nautical miles (Wiki).

If that’s a newer plane, maybe it’s one of the ER models.

It’s an example of coastal elite thinking just as surely as “flyover country” is. They’re embarrassed to be seen in anything but a wide body jet denoting their status as being on a major air route. A piddly little 737 is what they use in third tier, backwoods towns with an airport.
