I still say reunification of north and South Korea would be in China best interest financially. Hit the poor SK with hundreds of millions in costs. It would bankrupt them on the crisp of the coming nex global recession. Then the Chinese can have moral high ground with a peaceful reunification with Taiwan. JMHO as ignorant as it may be.
U.S. policy for hellholes like N. Korea should be massive drops of food, guns, and ammo out in the countryside, in such quantities that the government is incapable of preventing a well-fed, well-armed citizenry. Then, let nature take its course.
Every military power has war plans for all other military powers that could be a threat. It would be a dereliction of duty to not have such plans.
North Korea? Nuclear bases. OK, well pardon me here, someone has to do it:

Tillerson: China agrees on ‘action’ on North Korea as navy strike group sails
Secretary of state: President Xi understands the situation has intensified Syria missile strike described by North as intolerable act of aggression
Edward Helmore and agencies Sunday 9 April 2017 15.31 BST
As the US navy deployed a strike group towards the western Pacific Ocean, to provide a presence near the Korean peninsula, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said China agrees with the Trump administration that action has to be taken regarding North Korea.
Tillerson told CBSs Face the Nation, in an interview broadcast on Sunday, that when Donald Trump and Chinese president Xi Jinping met at Mar-a-Lago this week, they had extensive discussions around the dangerous situation in North Korea.
President Xi clearly understands, and I think agrees, that the situation has intensified and has reached a certain level of threat that action has to be taken, Tillerson said.
Tillerson described a shared view and no disagreement as to how dangerous the situation has become.
In view of the regional threat now posed by North Korean missile tests and nuclear ambitions, he said, the Chinese do not believe the conditions are right today to engage in discussions with the government in Pyongyang.
Were hopeful, he added, that we can work together with the Chinese to change the conditions in the minds of the DPRK leadership. And then, at that point, perhaps discussions may be useful.

Pentagon has had plans for years. What do ya think these guys do all day ? Idiots.

As several of the posters here have discussed, I think the end game of China and the US is the ouster of Kim by his own people.
I think that is probably the single best outcome of all the possible outcomes.
Loose lips sinks ships..... Here we go again. Just another bunch of media hounds in the WH administration OR are they a bunch of 5D chess players playing 8 moves ahead of their opponent with smoke and mirror news lines for distraction while they invade Antarctica?
Only time will tell how this turns out.
Meanwhile, I have filled my corn cribs with cracked corn and the still is running full out. Sugar, check....jars, check......lids, check.... Bring on the shooting war I got me some ring side seat medicinal Vodka for the Ruskies when they show up. Comrads!!!!!!!! Wrap your lips around this Mason Jar you commie basturd.
Why?
The pentagon already had multiple plans in place to deal with N. Korea the day Trump took office. They have 3-4 plans for invading Canada. It’s what military planners do fer crying out loud.
Fake news propaganda.
if he wants to recover, he should re-appoint gen flynn. fire this pos - mc-master,tillerson, nikki cabal. ship ivanka-jared back to nyc.
I just hope they have a good plan in place to hit Iran.
I think the good general was told to dust off existing plans and update them for the current situation.
We have all sorts of plans for all sorts of weird situations. Prior to Pearl Harbor, the US Navy had already prepared plans and gamed out every major situation they would later face in WWII in the Pacific with the exception of two, Pearl Harbor attack itself and the Kamikaze attacks.

Sean Spicer said again today that the president won’t telegraph his intentions. So if this is true, and is a leak, whoever leaked it is in big trouble.
I think the presence of the ship is enough to put NK on notice, anyway.
Fake news about commando/SEAL raids to get the Little Bastard. Would never happen. Now a JDAM might.
1. Our Carrier Group will be patrolling off North Korea’s Coast in International Waters.
2. The Norks will test fire another Missile in the general direction of our Fleet thinking we will do nothing.
3. We will respond after being “fired upon” by the Norks.
No matter what happens, the Norks will be held responsible for making the first move. I assume our Subs will be taking out any Nork Subs at Sea as soon as the Party starts.
OR, I’m wrong...
Article says: ‘Trump gave his military guys “orders to be ready” to deal with NK’s nuke threat.’
I’m sure he gave that “order” in January- so this is technically not a lie, but is being used as an excuse to write a slanted article....and then they attribute this being “confirmed” by a LT Gen. But it is NOT in quotes.
Then they stated: “It is BELIEVED that among the options are special forces...preemptive strikes” blah blah.
Believing something does not make it the truth.
I did proofreading for a paper for a while and part of my job was to ask the editor if he was ok with using stories written like this, no matter how big or small the topic. People sue, and I would not take responsibility for it being printed as such.
