While it was wrong in prior times to force children to “act according to their gender” and have acceptable and unacceptable gender behaviors, it is equally wrong to think they need to force children to be the opposite gender.
Gender starts with biology. It’s SCIENTIFIC.
Then, clearly, we have a near epidemic of children being born with their brain’s gender not matching up with their body’s, and it seems this dysfunction has as many varied symptoms as another epidemic such as Alzheimer’s or autism. The kids feel like they are the opposite gender, to varying degrees.
The correct thing to do while we find out what might be causing this epidemic and many other neonate brain dysfunctions these days, is to allow these precious children to be themselves, like we do with all other special needs kids. Help them feel good about the way they are.
Let them choose their own playthings, even dress within reason, but help them understand. “You’re a boy. Boys can like anything they want, do any hobbies they wish.” But they are boys and will be men. A man might feel masculine or feminine or to varying degrees of each. We know they can’t help it so we should accept them with their brain dysfunction.
But we also should NOT fall for the current (lack of) wisdom that these are the opposite sex trapped in the wrong body. RIDICULOUS.
Stop deforming these people who already have enough problems. We need to accept them as they express themselves any way they can if they don’t harm others.
We need to NOT interfere, not use hormone blockers. These remove all well being. Hormones are ESSENTIAL to happiness. Either gender.
We need feminine boys to learn to accept that after puberty they will have a man’s body. They can be anything they want, but they have the body they have. Women too. Stop deforming people to fit into a binary system. It is medical malpractice to surgically change bodies to fit brain dysfunctions.
It is as if we surgically operated on children with Down Syndrome to round their eyes and raise their ears. ITS A TRAGEDY. We need to prevent this condition, but until we stop it, we need to accept these people as beautiful even if they don’t fit normalcy in gender or behavior. Just let them be. Not cater to them, just accept and love them like we do with Down Syndrome or autism or people born without limbs.
