This is what happens when companies treat lower level managers like trained monkeys. If corporate isn’t going to trust the frontline managers to deal with this sorta ruckus, they might want to consider creating a department staffed with people they DO trust to deal with it. People who are only a phone call away. Folks who can think outside the box, authorize whatever, and protect the brand.
Another thought, since no airline wants scenes like this on their own planes, maybe airlines should consider putting an agreement in place to provide emergency transpo for employees who’ve been bumped...
