I just think there's this big push to have them all of a sudden, and it's being pushed by the elites.
Actually tiny houses w/o wheels have been around a long time in the south, 100s of years. The money that can be made in other areas has skyrocketed with the economy collapse in 2008. Only until the zoning/reg people can get them restricted or taxed for county/city income.
The Mother Earth movement of the 70s was here, as was their headquarters back then, thru the eighties....the magazine had a publication center in Hendersonville, NC for years.
At that time those small round houses were popular here, ranging from 300-1000+ sq ft. We have always had small log cabin dwellers in the mountains. Popular now are Park Model homes, and a variety of spaces for Floridians, who summer here.
Building/Zoning restrictions now have stopped a lot of it. The Tiny Homes are on the same trailer wheels as RVs and sm mobile homes. Those are now being restricted for placement, so don’t count on being able to park those just anywhere, anymore. I know, I own supposedly unrestricted property, and I can tell you that does not exist legally here. A permit is needed for everything now. And parking an RV w wheels to live in is not legal behind your house in the county, so neither is a tiny house.
I wish it were, it would solve a lot of problems for people, especially elderly parents, grown young college students, etc. Might be easier in city w city water, as county requires septic permits per bedroom used. Huge fines for violations, so people need to check that out before investing thousands into a tiny home. Most RV parks require actual RVs or Park Models.
Thanks for input!
