LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles man says hes found a solution to the citys housing crisis in the most unlikeliest of places.
T.K. Devine wants to help solve L.A.s homeless problem with portable toilets.
Folks who are living it rough and living on the streets and are trying to make a better life for themselves, they need consistency, Devine told CBS Los Angeles. They need a good nights rest.
The 35-year-old founder of Porta-Home is converting portable toilets into portable homes out of a downtown Los Angeles warehouse, including one built for himself.
...The system rests on a trailer that can be parked on any residential property, and the only hookup needed is a water hose.

Thank you!
Actually tiny houses w/o wheels have been around a long time in the south, 100s of years. The money that can be made in other areas has skyrocketed with the economy collapse in 2008. Only until the zoning/reg people can get them restricted or taxed for county/city income.
The Mother Earth movement of the 70s was here, as was their headquarters back then, thru the eighties....the magazine had a publication center in Hendersonville, NC for years.
At that time those small round houses were popular here, ranging from 300-1000+ sq ft. We have always had small log cabin dwellers in the mountains. Popular now are Park Model homes, and a variety of spaces for Floridians, who summer here.
Building/Zoning restrictions now have stopped a lot of it. The Tiny Homes are on the same trailer wheels as RVs and sm mobile homes. Those are now being restricted for placement, so don’t count on being able to park those just anywhere, anymore. I know, I own supposedly unrestricted property, and I can tell you that does not exist legally here. A permit is needed for everything now. And parking an RV w wheels to live in is not legal behind your house in the county, so neither is a tiny house.
I wish it were, it would solve a lot of problems for people, especially elderly parents, grown young college students, etc. Might be easier in city w city water, as county requires septic permits per bedroom used. Huge fines for violations, so people need to check that out before investing thousands into a tiny home. Most RV parks require actual RVs or Park Models.
Thanks for input!

...where never is heard
a reproof from God’s word
so they stay high and stoned the whole day!
Let me know when they pop up in Beverly Hills.
The city cracked down on him because he was putting the houses up on bridges, sidewalks, etc.
Some people liked the houses, others didn't and got the city to enforce the law against private "homes" on public property.
The last I heard he was being limited to putting the houses on empty lots.
The porta-potty homes will get no likes from the government.
Saying that you live in a toilet has new meaning.
Port-a-john housing and dumpster dining ... the Left’s solution to “helping the ‘less fortunate’” they have created.
I just ran across this article, and wanted to read it to see what portable toilet home looked like. Article gone. :(
