Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway pushed back on media reports that Donald Trump is considering a shakeup of his West Wing staff, telling Fox News' "The First 100 Days" Friday night that such stories "do not help the president" and were meant to "distract from the success that he's had this week."
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Trump is unhappy with the ongoing feuding among his team and has asked his confidants to provide names of possible replacements for Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. On Thursday, a New York Times report detailed what it described as an ongoing battle between Steve Bannon, Trump's chief strategist, and Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and senior adviser.
"I work with all these people, I know them all very well, I respect them enormously," Conway told host Martha MacCallum. "Donald Trump ... surrounds himself with a diverse group of people who are brilliant, who have different [areas of] expertise, who have very strong opinions. And this is a man who’s very comfortable receiving different insights and different inputs from people."

No, they really don’t, and the only purpose they serve is to stoke people’s paranoia over who is secretly running the show, when Trump is obviously running the show.
So who’s leaking all this crap? It has been so widely reported, I’m inclined to think there’s a lot of truth to it.
Trump did not get to where he is today by being easily manipulated.

President Trump’s opponents have shown they have no qualms about using outright lies to undermine him.
Why should they stop now?
But but but the whacked-out liberal press is having too much fun making turd ball after turd ball for the left and the right to consume.
“They” could be anyone from secretaries to media figgrers who hoover-up anything that smacks of rumor, dirt, or innuendo that they can blow up in to a “scoop”.
For instance:
Two guys walk into a mens room and continue the argument/discussion they’ve been having. John Q. Blogger is in the john, pondering the porcelain when he recognizes their voices and extracts a snippet that seems juicy. Totally out of context, no way to know what the prior or subsequent discussion was.
Just a made-up example, but I guarantee you, with the almost non-existent standards of journalism today along with the zeal some have to smear Trump with anything, such a scenario is certainly plausible if it hasn’t already actually happened.
So who wants to waste time even thinking about it?

The stories DO matter, Kellyanne. They are proven to matter as they divide the whole house.
These stories are either made up out of thin air, or the factions are leaking all day long, either over the Kirchners vs. Bannon, or plainly against Trump himself.
If it’s fictitious reporting, where is the push back, or litigation? If the Oval Office has enemies circulating through there, leaking against Trump, round ‘em up and haul them away.

I don’t read it as an out-of-control situation. Trump likes having as many different opinions, fervent ones, so he can try to make as many good decisions as he can. There are going to be, at times, hurt feelings and bruised egos, but that doesn’t mean that people are walking away from their appointments.
Especially after last weeks’ HFC mini-war. We need to see some discipline amongst DJT’s staff: this is maybe the only area where transparency isn’t helpful.

Litigation? Have you heard of the First Amendment? Pretty hard to litigate an reports of rumors.

I agree. For a guy who successfully gave us 1,000 GOP seats in his tenure. Clearly he’s good. Let’s start showing it.

Leaking can serve several purposes, but in this Oval Office, damaging Trump and his staff cohesiveness is 100% the purpose.
Of course there is, and she carefully didn’t come out with any baldfaced denials. Just redirection, reframing and a refocusing of priorities.
