I honestly don’t remember. As I understand it, Erdogan has a bunch of refugees in Turkey that he’s threatening to turn loose in Europe.

Just think what these people could do if they had a country of their own.

Statistically, %50 of Oregon’s latinos were illegal a few years ago. So, Woodburn was probably about %50 latino. Hillsboro may be next.

Lots to comment on (sent to the reporter and his editor):

“Across the country, undocumented immigrants say they now live in fear of deportation.”
Whether this is by the AP stylebook or the paper’s agenda, using the blur word “undocumented” taints the article as just another pro-illegal (THAT’s the word) sob story. The next time you are stopped for a traffic violation, tell the officer you are an “undocumented driver” and see what happens.

“Mexican parents who fled violence to pick berries for $15,000 a year . . .
Many also fled for a better life but still keep their allegiance to a country which abused them so badly, they had had to flee.

“The city publishes its newsletter and council meeting minutes in English and Spanish.”
Unless the English/Spanish versions are side-by-side so the readers can pick up English a bit easier, this is just enabling the Spanish readers to stay as they are.

“The local radio station broadcasts in four languages, two of which are indigenous to Latin America.”
Same enabling gripe applies here. Do these stations have a segment teaching English? A quick scan of that station’s website shows nothing.

“the superintendent said, that the community valued its diversity.”
This “diversity” crap has to stop. Haven’t these people heard of E Pluribus Unum? Anything else is Balkanization, and we know how that turns out.

“Miller doesn’t speak Spanish, so a paralegal who considers herself ‘200 percent Mexican’ translated as families arrived one night.”
Boy, that statement cuts a lot of the previous positive statements off at the knees. That paralegal’s comment indicates she is a colonizer, a Mexican agent if you will.

“Mora, who runs Zapateria El Jalicience, said the customers who do visit come to wire money back to Mexico - a contingency savings plan.”
This is a HUGE sticking point, as this is money that could/should have been spent here by citizens. Contingency or not, before the crackdown, a larger greater percentage was sent south of the border to help their indigent relatives – a great safety valve for Mexico’s ruling elite.

“Two years ago, voters agreed to tax themselves to pay for a $65 million school bond.”
Since this is about the illegals, it guts the argument about them not voting.

“his [Ferraris] department would follow an Oregon law that prevents local departments from helping immigrations officers deport residents.”
Since when can states pick and choose which Federal law they would follow? This is WAY beyond the 10th Amendment and smacks of sedition.

”Loeza said he handed them his driver’s license, which had expired.”
This lackadaisical approach to our laws is symptomatic of these illegals and the cause of much self-induced grief. It would be interesting to see how many of them carry auto insurance.

My biggest gripe is that many/most of these illegals, unlike the legal immigrants (including my dad), don’t want to become Americans, just live like them. How many will wave the Mexican flag at the next rally or protest?

Oh, one last point. It is PRESIDENT Trump, or is that another from the AP stylebook? Yet another example of the not-so-subtle anti-Trump campaign by the Media.

That’s assuming they’re literate in Spanish, or even speak it at all.
= = = = = = = = = =
Where the ‘international’ signs come in handy.

A picture of rifle & tombstone will sort of get the message out.

There was one kicking around with a tree bough, couple of chains with sign attached and a rifle hanging from it.

The sign said

WE DON’T DIAL 911

"Just think of how this rich experience will enable them to benefit and strengthen their own countries when they return."
Amen to that! Make Mexico great as they can!
