If the accusation is substantiated then let the law take its course, but we still have a system of jurisprudence where someone is innocent until proven guilty. I’m not going to condemn anyone on the basis of sensational allegations from 30 years ago that have a convenient political timing behind them. That’s exactly the sort of shenanigans that were pulled against Trump last year.
Don’t you find it odd that the mayor immediately dodged the media and canceled his press conference when the story broke and then when he held a press conference 24 hours later after talking to his lawyers that wasn’t a press conference he didn’t answer any questions about it, didn’t scream from the rooftops that he’s innocent or confront the accusers? I think an innocent person would do that.
I also find it odd that the mayor would give that crazy line about waiting for the court case to speak about it. I think an innocent man would want everyone to know he’s innocent NOW instead of letting people think you’re guilty for months and months.
Don’t you also find it odd that the mayor never asked the accuser’s lawyer who the accuser is—he only knew his initials—before he addressed the media? I think an innocent person would want to know who’s falsely accusing him.
Just some common sense observations.
