I wonder who the high value target(s) was/were that the Syrians were after. Apparently they hit a hospital where some of the ISIS casualties had been taken in a second attack.
I hadn’t run across that idea but there were was certainly a motive for the attack and maybe that’s it.
I have heard that there is a Sunni-Shiite power struggle going on in Syria that isn’t getting widely reported in the Western press. The Russians are involved in this, facilitating a Shiite crescent in the region. This has something to do with their own internal Muslim population. It’s a complex issue and all the players in the region including Saudi Arabia are arming groups in Syria.
