The U.S. military has launched more than 50 missiles aimed at Syria, NBC News reported.
A U.S. military official told NBC that 59 tomahawks had been fired, which hit an airfield near Homs.

Maybe before he takes military action based on intelligence reports, he should first clean out the intelligence agencies.
The deep state have no qualms about expressing their desire to take down President Trump. I suspect he gets the information that the deep state want him to have. How would he ever know what’s missing or inaccurate?
Maybe he’ll get NATO/UN troops to guard the “safe spaces”in Syria if he ends up doing them. We’ll see I guess.
Huge mixed emotions on this one. Wanted no further involvement in Syria and possible regime change. Still think whatever might follow could be worse. At the same time, I’ve often thought if I were going to try to send a real message to Syria, or Iran or NK, this is what I’d do; used saturation bombing to destroy a military installation and make it clear that all bases and even government buildings could also be destroyed.
But Trump is so wrapped up in his emotional reaction to the deaths of children in a gas attack, that I worry if this has been thought through. And who knows what the motives of some of his globalist advisors are.
Good speech, Mr. President.
What I love is the Chinese prez is in the next room...and *45* says* Mr. Xi, we’re skipping dessert...wanna see some American fireworks?
A Cooper is stuttering his way thru his broadcast. Meh.
Armchair quarterbacking to begin in ....3....2......
Yes, it's based on a lie, more than likely. But Trump has to respond if that's what the CIA is telling him happened. Political realities will cost Syria their airfield, but Tillerson has already said that the ousting of the Assad regime is not on the table any time soon until after ISIS is toppled, and even then, would be brought about by peaceful measures.
That means Assad will still be standing tomorrow morning, and the day after that, and the week after that, minus one airfield.
Russians would have had advanced warning too, and I wouldn't be surprised if they gave consent to begin with.
In early March President Trump nearly doubled the number of Marines and Army Rangers in Syria.
“Hundreds of Marines, Army Rangers deploy to Syria in the fight against Islamic State”

>Dead Russians might be a problem...but that would help with Mr. Trumps too friendly with Russia problem.
Killing people to deal with a political problem is abhorrent.
“There is an advantage to having foreign powers think Trump is a deranged lunatic.”
Yes, there is an advantage, but not for the U.S.population. The foreign powers make alliances to take out the “deranged lunatic”. Review you history, these types of leaders are usually taken down.
Correction closer to the truth
So Hillary Clinton was elected after all?
I would guess part of what he knows has to do with timing and relative priorities.
The CIA -— That pied on him? are you nuts? They sucker him in because he is STUPID!!
Now the Syrians can say that their Air Force destroyed over 50 advanced Tomahawk cruise missiles. All while sitting on the ground.
I seriously doubt Trump really cares about the death of a small number of children in Syria. I mean, not enough to go to war over. It is more than likely political posturing made necessary by the CIA's claim of 100% proof that Assad is behind the chemical strike.
The attacks will stop at this airfield where authorities are even saying they're not "targeting people." That even makes me wonder whether or not we gave them opportunity to evacuate before the strike.
I’ll withhold judgement on the whole operation until further details emerge. Trump isn’t stupid. Neither is Putin for that matter, but that’s another issue.
The problem is that nobody trusts our country’s intelligence any more. Well, nobody with half a brain. Or, maybe they do. Lots of layers in everything surrounding Trump.
Based on the timing of his meeting with certain world leaders—Jordan’s king, Egypt’s president, China’s premiere—I assume that Trump knows exactly what he is doing and the end result will be increased cooperation dealing with our mutual enemies in the Mid East and at the north end of the Korean peninsula.
“Europe today is a powder keg and the leaders are like men smoking in an arsenal A single spark will set off an explosion that will consume us all I cannot tell you when that explosion will occur, but I can tell you where Some damned foolish thing in the Balkans will set it off.”
-Otto von Bismarck, prior to WW1
Today’s paraphrase:
“The Middle East today is a powder keg and the leaders are like men smoking in an arsenal
A single spark will set off an explosion that will consume us all
I cannot tell you when that explosion will occur, but I can tell you where
Some damned foolish thing in a sh*thole Middle East nation will set it off.”
Prior to WW 3
I think this was a deal between Putin and Trump. Putin wanted out of Syria and couldn’t just fold and leave due to US pressure. This makes Trump look tough and allows Russia off the hook of supporting Assad.
I want to see videos of US missiles going down smokestacks in the morning. Wimp much?
