The trigger for recusal is the House Ethics Committee taking up the complaint. The gatekeeper for the Ethics Committee (the Office of Congressional Ethics) probably dismisses most of the public complaints it receives.

We'll see how this ends up, I honestly don't have an opinion on the merits. Meanwhile, I'm of a mind "careful what you wish for." Nunes is now out of the direct line of fire, and Schiff is still in it.

Nunes is accused of inappropriately disclosing information but the information was not specific. It was merely a comment that he did not witness any documents that implicated Trump Administration in the so-called Russian collusion.

There was nothing unethical in what Nunes did.

Schiff has been making similar comments for weeks without having examined any evidence beforehand. The one time he accepted the President’s invitation to examine evidence, he went silent after a brief blurb about process.
