Oh, you betcha; capitulate before it’s too late!
From your keyboard to God’s inbox.
>>This is so dumb on the Dems part.<<
While I agree that it’s a dumb move politically, it’s also a good indication as to how far to the left Bernie and Hillary dragged the party over the past two years or so.
Now, if any Democrat legislators don’t toe the Leftist (and far, far, Leftist at that) they’ll anger what’s left of their base.
And the longer this goes on, the smaller that base will become as reasonable people continue to desert the Democrat Party in droves.
Ultimately, the Democrats left in the Senate will be forced by their base to resist anything and everything the GOP puts forth legislatively and Senator McConnell will have no choice but to apply the Reid Rule to legislation as well. Then we’ll finally be back to the system the Founders designed where a majority of the Senate decides the fate of legislation, not a supermajority.
After 30 hours of debate.
Around 7-ish tomorrow evening
The unlimited debate rules are a legacy of the original conception of the Senate as a chamber of the best and brightest selected by state legislatures which would engage in epic debates regarding the issues of the day. That never happened. It was a dream of the founders and never really occurred. Then senators became directly elected so any pretense to being the best and brightest minds in all the land can be safely dismissed.
This is not an arena for epic debates. It never was. There is no reason to continue any tradition which tries to serve this purpose and this never has or will happen.
Trump could lose his base if he starts listening to the globalists in Syria, doesn't drop the influence of Jared and Ivanka, doesn't get Mexico to pay for the wall, and doesn't repeal and replace Obamacare with something that isn't a mandate.
Eastern time?
I believe so.
It was 1 PM Eastern when they set off the nuke.
60 Vote is the KKK rule of the Democrat Grand Wizard. Lol.
