A bill that would prohibit discriminating against people based on their beliefs about climate change is up for a hearing in the Maine state capital.
Republican Rep. Larry Lockman says his bill would prohibit the state from favoring or penalizing a person based on how they feel about climate change. It's up for a hearing on Thursday before the Legislature's Committee on Judiciary.
Lockman says climate change doubters get treated like "heretics'' and they deserve to be protected. He also says his bill would protect people who feel strongly that climate change is real.
Democrats and environmental groups in Maine say they will fight the proposal.

Arizona wishes you weel.
How about a bill to prosecute AGW alarmists?
“If you federal funds to perpetrate a scientific fraud, you’re subject to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 dollar fine.”
Doubters = Those who actually know math and physics.
What’s this feeling crap?
Knowing trumps feeling.
It says a lot about how truly messed up we are as a country when you have to pass a law to protect someone just for having a different opinion.
I live in Maine.
Larry Lockman is one of the best elected officials in the state. I wish he were one of Maine’s two U.S. senators.
Maine is the most heavily forested states in America. It would be greatly improved if the democrats and environmentalist wackos were swinging from those trees.
We don’t need such laws. Further proof the government is in the toilet.
Why not have laws for those who believe or not in the Easter Bunny?
We dont need such laws.”
Sadly, we do. I just read there s a school system that wants to destroy any books that dispute AGW.
Exactly right. I don’t believe there is any measurable extent of AGW,but I don’t take any gov’t. funds for it either. Those who do take funds & spread false beliefs about what is happening with the climate should be prosecuted.
The hearing was postponed due to an unforeseen change in climate. /s
Remember, that works two ways. It also prevents us from discriminating against warmists, even though hiring morons or the fully indoctrinated is not in our best interest.
Edit for clarity.
What’s the bill called, gore is full of shit?just show his propaganda movie and point out none of this shit happened.
“It says a lot about how truly messed up we are as a country when you have to pass a law to protect someone just for having a different opinion.”
My thoughts exactly.
And it, also, sounds a lot like the founders protecting their religious rights, only this time, it’ll be to protect us from the dangerous and aggressive cult religion, AGW.
Apparently the 1st Amendment isn’t good enough for Mainiacs.
