Right now women in Damascus can walk around without their heads covered, wearing jeans, and going to universities and working as professionals. The neocons and globalists and left are working to end such enlightened Western attitudes. Christians are protected from persecution and execution from Islamists. Look at the fate of Christians in Iraq. The same devastating fate awaits Christians and other religious minorities in Syria.
