Are you sure that Rice, Clapper, Comey and Brennan did not try to delete the evidence if their spying and were very sure that they deleted their evidence trail.
Such confidence that they had destroyed the evidence of their activities would explain the arrogance with which they openly leaked secret information and openly conspired against the Trump Admin
Perhaps they were being surveilled themselves by someone very high up in intelligence who preserved both their evidence trail and their attempts to destroy the evidence
Such a guy would have to be pretty high up, but then a whistle blower who could approve and set up and approve a White House viewing of the top secret information in a secure SCIF room would be pretty highly placed as well, no?
If so, they must be stunned at being blindsided by the discovery of the evidence of the proof of their wrongdoing coming to light after they were certain it would never be found
FWIW, the Obama FISA spying could only be done by a relatively small group of very high level players. Most people at the Susan Rice and John Brennan are not systems level experts for NSA intelligence computers
