NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) News 2 has learned that Montgomery County State Senator Mark Green will be appointed next week as Secretary of the Army by President Donald Trump.
Green went to West Point and later served in Iraq before becoming a medical doctor.
While in Iraq, he was involved in the capture of Saddam Hussein and examined the Iraqi dictator in the first few hours after the capture.
Before being elected to the Tennessee Senate in 2012, Green began a hospital staffing company in Clarksville.
The senator announced earlier this year that he was running for governor of Tennessee, but the presidents upcoming announcement will take him in a different direction.
Green recently told WATE that no matter what job he does next, he just wants to keep serving
Haslam has already bet on his fellow RINO Randy Boyd to succeed him, so Corker may have already passed the point where he should’ve stated he was getting in.
As for Mark Norris, he is supporting the unnecessary gas tax, so I think he’s jumped the shark.
Beavers needs to get in now, though, with Green moving to DC.
Wow, I don’t even know where to start with that.
#1, Tom Price was a House member and the GOP will keep his seat in the upcoming special election. #2, Mark Green is a member of the Tennessee state legislature (State Senate). Neither of these individuals are U.S. Senators.
Well, yeah, that’s obvious, and you’re right, I am remiss in not having said it. After all, I’m at Ground Zero on the first, I’ve been in the GA 6th (Newt’s old district) for more than 30 years, so I voted for Newt when he was Speaker. And on the second, the article was reasonably clear about him being in the TN legislation.
But how does someone come to make that comment? That’s what I don’t know where to start about.
Sorry, I misread your comment. I thought you were expressing concern that these two might be U.S. Senators, not that the fella you were responding to clearly didn’t realize they’re not. Some people get confused when they see “State Senator” and aren’t sure if they’re referring to a legislator or a U.S. Senator.
That was a piece of info I didn’t know on Mark. I’ve already done my emails on that to him, as have many others. I have his private email not just Senate.
Green supported last year’s attempt for instate tuition of illegals. So glad he’s gone. Does halsam pick who fills his place?
Bathroom bill is coming up soon. Eagle Forum has already sent out word to start calling. We don’t want men in women’s RR.
I hadn’t heard that about Green. If so, that’s a huge disappointment.
As for the vacancy, the Governor doesn’t appoint, but it will either be the local election commission (?) choosing a Republican replacement or they may go straight to a special election. They seem to vary on what they do.
The Bathroom Bill may be moot, as Pres. Trump already instructed the Justice Dept. not to enforce the pervert edict.
Harwell says she can’t do a thing about the gas tax bill. Now what? I’ve already made my calls.
He’s a pro-life, Christian Tea Party consevative. Queers are already raising hell over his selection. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/trump-picks-christian-pro-life-conservative-to-replace-homosexual-as-army-s?utm_content=buffer0462b&utm_medium=social&utm_source=+lifesitenews%2Bfacebook&utm_campaign=buffer
I’ll bet. If she wanted to kill that bill, she very well could. She doesn’t.
Get a load of this...
