WIFI? “They” can drive by your house and get on your computer.

Wifi has encryption on by default. There's almost no doubt the NSA could brute force WPA2 if they put some portion of their computers on it. And not a drive-by, they would do it from 10 miles away. But not your network, you are too low value of a target. As for the local cops? I doubt it.

It came out a few years ago that local cops can turn on your cell phone. And that was before “fake news”.

I told my wife years ago that “they” are not afraid of little folks like us. If one of us was to get a following and start preaching the truth, then they’d be interested.
