I’m not 100% convinced that vaccines are the devil (or his work), but I am very, very skeptical. I think one REALLY easy and cheap study could be a double-blind study:
(1) 10,000 people who get the normal flu shot (study group)
(2) 10,000 people who get injected with saline (placebo group)
(3) 10,000 people who do neither (control group)
I would actually be curious to see the results for each of the groups above. I havent taken a flu shot since I retired from the AF in 2002. I don’t perceive that I’ve been any sicker or healthier than I was when I was getting shot every year. And, no, I am not a germaphobe nor was I somebody who megadosed on vitamins or other measures, and yes, for a lot of this time I was hanging around kids as my daughter was growing up (and since she’s fully grown, I still don’t shy away from any place).
You have a great idea, too bad the CDC won’t do the studies that have been requested for years.

And that empirical fact has served me well in my life as a young man, a parent and now an old geezer with stage 3/4 emphysema.

Flu vaccines are about 60-70% effective. Not all viruses are the same. The flu virus mutates so rapidly it is hard to keep up with the latest strains since this virus jumps the species barrier so readily. Try not to get taken in by the Luddites. Snake oil has been selling for centuries and there is always a market for it.
These studies have been done countless times in animal models. The white coat studies in the 1950s and 1960s were done on human subject volunteers to study vaccine and therapeutic drug efficacy for biological warfare agents.

Then why don’t you? Have we become so stupid that we not only cannot write a scientific paper but we also can no longer find nor read them??
Those studies are out there.
Try researching the countless scientific studies published by the Mayo Clinic or even the USAF!
You are obviously not even the smartest person in the room when you are by yourself.
Everyone who is unhappy with the level of “true science” in these primitive vaccines wants studies for ALL OF THEM like what you describe. Long term as well.

Try looking at www.clinicaltrials.gov, where most researchers testing drugs register their clinical trials.
Unlike what the anti-vaxxers claim, vaccines are tested extensively. In order to use a vaccine in a particular population, the vaccine must first be tested on that population. So, for example, a vaccine may not be used in children under the age of 6 unless it has been tested in that group. In addition, most countries will not approve a vaccine for use in their country unless it has been tested there with representative members of their populations.
The flu shot is in a rather special class, since it must be reformulated every year. Since it takes ten years or longer to fully test a vaccine before FDA will approve it, flu vaccines have an accelerated testing process. The technology used is exactly the same from year to year; hence the technology does not need testing. But the virus must still be tested to ensure it is safe and invokes an adequate immune response.
A phase 3 trial can involve thousands of patients. That is the last stage of testing before a drug manufacturer can file a request for FDA approval.
