Out of curiosity, how long do both of you think simply pretending there's no problem will work?
The terrorist war in Yemen and Iranian expansion there has very little to do with whether the US maintains free transit.
Sure, the Iranians and maybe even some Americans will be concerned with appearances.
But, no matter where you place Iranians or their weapons they will have no impact on the free movement and exercise of US arms.
It’s just a logistics question for the ordnance team.
